BLIND FLANGE DN 800 PN 16 EN1092-1-05 AISI304L Pipe Plate Flange
Frequently referred to as flat flanges, a plate flange has a gasket constructed on its surface in the same plane as the face of the bolting circle. Plate flange manufacturers also make reference to these flange as a flat faced flange. Flat face flanges are often seen in those applications where a cast has been made from the mating flange or flanged fitting. This kind of stainless steel plate flange is recommended to be used when the counter-flanges have a flat face. This is a condition that primarily occurs when connections are to be forged to cast iron equipment, valves and specialities. According to standard ASME B16.5, when a flat face flanges produced from cast iron is used to make a connection with a stainless steel flange, the raised face of the stainless steel flange has to be removed, while including a full face gasket.
